The system consists of several key components including the twist grip throttle, integrated control unit, battery and the hub motor. Operation is similar to riding a moped except the power is provided by an onboard battery pack. The integrated control unit has a key switch which acts as the Off/On switch for the system. Once the system is "On" the rider may start out riding the bike by pedalling or by using the twist grip throttle. As the throttle is turned the integrated contol unit regulates electrical power to the hub motor. Depending on the configuration, the hubmotor may be installed on either the front or rear wheel. The rear hubmotor is rated at a higher wattage then the front hubmotor. An optional pedal sensor may be installed. The sensor will automatically engage in response to the pedalling force applied by the rider who can combine motor power with his or her own strength. The motor is automatically turned off when you stop pedalling or operate the brake.
